Second level masters are NOT equivalent to EU/UK masters within Italy, instead, laurea magistrale is. However, they should be considered equivalent to those within the EU/US. This means that you are not able to do a PhD in Italy with a second level master, but you could do it abroad. I'm not 100% confident but this is what I've been told by my Italian colleagues.
This completely makes me rethink about Unimarconi. I thought the completion of both 1st and 2nd level master's in Italy was considered equivalent to the 2-year Italain Master's, but it does not appear to be the case...
Unfortunately, despite official status and accreditation, the Italian First and Second Level Master's are professional degrees. Dare I say it, not so much better than a titulo propio in a sense. Maybe nice to learn and have, but if one's goal is to go into a doctorate level programme thereafter, it might not be so good.
Then again, I find it hard to believe that a DBA programme in the UK or US wouldn't accept an Italian MBA at the second master's level..
Now, if US NACES FCEs evaluate the Unimarconi MBA as being equivalent to a US RA MBA, then it's good to go for a Doctorate-level program in the US.
For direct entry into a DBA programme, one can always go for a Level 8 Diploma, which guarantees entry to several UK DBA programmes.
